Junk Removal in Groton, MA — Flat Prices and Same-Day Pickup

By Tyler BornsteinJuly 16, 20268 min read
TL;DR

We haul junk from Groton homes. Text photos of what needs to go, we send back a flat price within 24 hours. Most jobs run $90 to $650 depending on how much space it takes in the trailer. We show up in a 2-hour window, load everything, sweep the area, and you pay after the job is done. Same-day and next-day slots are usually open.

Groton is a town of old colonials on five-acre lots, newer builds off Route 119, and farm properties that have been accumulating equipment, fencing, and barn clutter since the last apple harvest. If the garage, barn, or basement has turned into a storage unit you stopped pretending was temporary, you probably want two things: a number and a date.

We are a Billerica-based crew that covers Groton daily. About 25 minutes from our yard to your driveway. You text us photos, we text back one flat price. No walkthrough, no pressure, no surprise charges on the bill.

Photos in. Price back. Gone by next week.

The process takes about two minutes of your time. Snap a few photos of what needs to go, text them to us with your Groton address, and we send back one flat price within 24 hours. That price covers loading, hauling, disposal, and a sweep of the area when we are done.

You pick a 2-hour arrival window. Morning or afternoon, Monday through Saturday. Most Groton jobs are scheduled same or next day. If we say 9 to 11, we are there by 10. We are not going to give you a four-hour window and then show up at the end of it.

On site, the crew loads everything into the trailer. Most Groton jobs take one to three hours. You pay after the job is done, only when you are happy. Cash, check, Venmo, Zelle, or card. No deposit up front.

What we take from Groton homes

Furniture, appliances, mattresses, box springs, electronics, yard waste, construction debris, and general clutter. If it is not hazardous waste and a human can lift it, we will haul it.

Common Groton jobs include barn cleanouts where old equipment and fencing have been piling up for years, garage cleanouts after a move or downsizing, furniture removal when someone upgrades, and full estate cleanouts when a family member needs the house cleared. The larger lots out here mean people accumulate more before they call. We have seen basements with twenty years of boxes stacked to the ceiling.

We handle full property cleanouts for estates and foreclosures. If you just need a single couch or a washer gone, furniture and appliance removal is the faster option.

  • Old couches, mattresses, dressers, tables, and bed frames
  • Refrigerators, washers, dryers, stoves, and dishwashers
  • Boxes, bins, and general basement or attic clutter
  • Yard waste, brush, and storm debris
  • Construction scraps, drywall, lumber, and tile

What junk removal costs in Groton

Most Groton jobs run between $90 and $650. The price depends on how much space your stuff takes in the trailer. A couple of items is usually $90. A full truckload is around $250. A half trailer runs $425, and a full trailer is $650.

Heavy stuff like concrete, dirt, or tile costs more because of dump fees. We apply a weight multiplier before the job, not after. Stairs add a bit too. One flight is $40. Two or more is $80.

The number we text you is the price you pay. No fuel surcharges, no disposal fees added at the end, no extra charge because your driveway is a quarter mile long (we have done those). Quotes carry roughly plus or minus 15 percent until we see the job in person. We say that out loud instead of lowballing the photos and surprising you on the day.

Groton access is different from the suburbs closer to Boston

Groton has a mix of housing. Old colonials on large lots near the town center, newer developments off Route 119 and Route 40, and farm properties spread across the back roads. The driveways tend to be longer than what you see in Billerica or Burlington, and some of the roads are narrow with no sidewalks. That has never stopped us, but it is worth mentioning when you text the photos.

If your property is off one of the longer private roads, the kind that turn from pavement to gravel halfway up the hill, let us know. The trailer handles it fine. We just like to know before we arrive. Same with barn or outbuilding access. If the stuff is in a barn fifty yards from the house, we will plan for the walk.

Groton does have a transfer station on Farmers Row that accepts bulky waste. You need a permit, orange town bags, and you have to haul it yourself. For most people, paying us $90 to $250 to handle it is cheaper than renting a truck, buying the bags, and making the run yourself.

Three other companies looked at it and said no

We had a job where a customer had a hot tub stuck in a backyard with tight access and a slope leading down to it. Three other companies had come out, looked at the situation, and declined. We said no problem. The crew had it out and gone in 90 minutes.

That is the kind of job we like. The ones where someone has already been told it cannot be done. Groton properties have character, and character sometimes means a narrow path between the house and the stone wall, or a barn door that is six inches too narrow for a standard dolly. We plan for it. You text the photos, we send the number, and we figure out the logistics before we show up.

When you should not hire us

If you have a truck, a strong back, and a Saturday morning free, a single dump run will cost you less than our $90 minimum. The Groton transfer station on Farmers Row accepts bulky waste with a permit. If it is one truckload of regular junk, that route might be cheaper.

We will tell you that if your job is small enough to handle yourself. We would rather lose the job than charge you for something you could do for less. Rule of thumb: if it fits in a pickup truck and you have the vehicle, the dump run wins on price.

Hazardous waste is another reason not to call us. Wet paint, asbestos, chemicals, medical waste, propane tanks. We cannot take those. They need a specialist. If you are not sure whether your stuff counts, text us the photos and we will tell you.

Hourly haulers are paid to be slow

Most junk removal companies charge by the hour. A slow crew with a meter running is their whole business model. We charge by volume. How much space your stuff takes in the trailer. Whether the crew finishes in one hour or three, the price is the same.

A truck load of junk is $250 whether it takes our crew 45 minutes or two hours. A full trailer is $650 whether the basement was organized or buried under twenty years of boxes. You know the number before we start, and a slow afternoon costs us, not you.

We are not the cheapest option in Groton. If you have a truck and a free Saturday, the dump run is cheaper. What we offer is a flat price before we show up, a crew that loads and sweeps, and payment at the end only when you are happy. Where your stuff goes after we leave

Hauling it does not mean dumping it. Usable items get donated locally. Goodwill, Savers, Habitat ReStore in the Billerica and Lowell area. Metal and electronics go to licensed recyclers. Only true waste heads to the transfer station.

If there are items in good condition, we will ask if you want them donated. We do not charge extra for donation runs. Some people want everything gone. Others want us to set aside a few things. Both are fine.

Massachusetts has strict disposal bans on certain materials. Mattresses, electronics, and yard waste cannot go in the regular trash. We handle all of that. If you have a mattress to get rid of, we wrote a separate guide on how to dispose of a mattress in Massachusetts.
